Almost perfect. It has just about everything you'd want from Google Maps, including transit directions, Street View, and turn-by-turn directions. It even one-ups Apple Maps with the option of an in-app option to mute the voice directions.

The only gripe I have with this app (right now anyway) is that it does not integrate with your contacts. Instead you must copy & paste street addresses into the app or get directions in Google Maps via Apple Maps' "Routing Apps" option.

Overall, highly worth the download for Street View and transit directions, but I'll be sticking with Apple Maps for the most part.

Wow! This app pretty much blew me away! This is so good! Street view also. This was like virtual reality. Don't know if this was there before but Google did an awesome job!

Brilliant application.
It is even better than the original Google Maps app.
So glad we have google maps back on our phones.
With vector graphics, turn by turn navigation and reliable public transport directions.
This app is a must.

it's GREAT having GoogleMaps back on the phone. There are a few quirks that bug me though.

1) For reasons I don't fully understand, it bugs me when an address field is a single line rather than split out for street/city/state. This one is one line entry. It works fine, I should just get over that I guess...

2) Street view is back but not clearly obvious. If you've entered an address, you'll get a map vie with the classic upside down tear-drop pointer. Tapping that pointer does nothing. Instead, check the bottom of the screen. There's a text field tab there with your searched address listed, drag it up to see Street-View then tap to open. At that point - BEAUTIFUL.

And.... (drum roll)...... Turn-By-Turn FINALLY!

So apparently Google was just waiting for Apple to do their own before letting us have this feature. Shame on you, Google.

Thanks Terry for the how to street view. I was at my wits end cause all the addresses I searched for in my neighborhood have no street view. Finding the street view in the first place is not easy as I couldn't find anything in the Help files.

It’s fine, though for my purposes so is Apple Maps, and Apple Maps has Siri integration and in the comparisons I did, gave me slightly preferable routes than this app does, generally. I found the animation as you’re following a route very jerky on my 4S, though it’s just a fit-and-finish problem. I deleted it after testing it, but if you want to use it, I’m sure it’ll be fine.
