One of the worst, most bloated apps I've ever used, not that I've exhaustively plumbed the depths of that category.

This app saves me 10 minutes on average on my commute (total commute 45 minutes) I don't go anywhere in the car without it. It will automatically route you around traffic (fastest possible route).

I love Waze. The combination of social and GPS bring a new level of GPS service. I am not sure they always provide the best route, but overall it's great.

Crowd-sourced, user-friendly, free. It's taken me to frequent destinations faster than ever via routes I'd never thought to try.

This is by far my favorite travel app. Very accurate traffic data for places that dont even have traffic sensors by using social traffic data. Apple should have just bought these guys and threw there satellite imagery on top.

navigation is hit or miss but it's still the best option out there for the price.

I have heard of a few problems with this, but I never had any! I enjoyed, as a passenger, marking any "hazards," (cops, construction, roadkill, vehicles on the shoulder, etc.) feeling like I was doing my part to "warn" others.

Better than a TomTom?
Barry Fulk replied:
For time to destination and alerts, absolutely. For overall directions, no. I still default to TomTom for a new destination. It's spot on. But Waze is pretty good (and getting better). For daily commutes or other common routes, I always go Waze. Plus the social aspects are kinda cool.
Michael Johnston replied:
Good to know, especially from the navigation king ;)

Love it! The crowd sourced traffic alerts CANNOT be beaten by any other system. Not the most accurate GPS navigation app/system out there but far from the worst. A must have app!

A nice alternative to the current Maps app. It is a social network of drivers that provide information about traffic in your area. It also has very good turn-by-turn navigation.
