inRoute - Intelligent Route and Road Trip Planner
Universal

Description

Hit the road! inRoute can find the optimal route between many locations or help you chart your own course based on weather, elevation, curviness, daylight and places along the route. Then navigate using your favorite apps, which inRoute enhances to support multi-location routes.

***As seen on the TODAY show in the Traveling This Summer segment***

“…especially good for folks who understand that a journey and its route aren’t just about the miles.” - Charlie Sorrel, “Cult of Mac”

“adding to both the safety of the ride and the pleasure of knowing beforehand what to expect” - Florin Tibu, “autoevolution”

Key Features (some require in-app purchase--see below):
• Easily reorder route waypoints, automatically for fastest time or manually (up to 25 places)
• Interactive charts showing route elevation, curviness, and weather (temperature, humidity, precipitation, wind speed)
• Charts include sunrise/sunset times and severe weather alerts (currently US and UK areas) along routes
• Navigate up to 25 location routes in Apple Maps, Google Maps, Navigon, TomTom, and Waze. Some apps use inRoute's "Agenda Nav" feature. See the in-app FAQ for more info
• Search along a route—the whole route, every x miles/km, or the next x miles/km from a place—find gas, hotels, campgrounds or places to eat close to a route
• Set Departure and Layover Times—weather forecasts, road conditions (e.g. congestion), and travel times accurately reflect conditions throughout the trip
• Save your favorite routes and places, sync between devices, print via Airprint, and share with family and friends
• Easily add places to the map using a Dropped pin, Search, or Contacts; import addresses from webpages or Notes (iOS 8); or import from TXT, CSV, KML or GPX files
• Send routes to MapQuest.com for viewing in a browser, or export to GPS devices and apps compatible with GPX files

The following premium features are available with a single in-app purchase:
- Automatically order waypoints to find the fastest route
- Add up to 25 locations to each route (5 in the free version)
- Five additional charts for route Elevation, Temperature, Humidity, Precipitation, and Wind Speed, in addition to the free Curviness chart
- Weather charts include Severe Weather Alerts along route (currently US and UK)
- Navigate routes in Apple Maps, Google Maps, Navigon, TomTom, and Waze (if installed)
- Automatic bookmark sync using iCloud
- Add layovers to waypoints
- Additional route search options: search by interval or from pin
- Send routes to MapQuest.com for viewing in a browser
- GPX file sharing via AirDrop, Mail, Messages or the "Open in..." menu

Note: Since continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life, inRoute only uses your location in the background for its "Agenda Nav" feature and will automatically shut down if you haven't used it in a while.
